Ashley Furniture and Bob's Discount Furniture


When something gets old we want to replace it with something new that is better in its quality and appearance. New things cost money and if you want to buy a brand product then you pay twice as much. And for big money you expect good quality and even better customer service. Hardly ever both are available. And in some cases you spend your money on awful quality and even worse service.


Bob's Discount Furniture. As funny as it may seem, the Bob's Discount Furniture was started due to a motorcycle accident. Its founder Bob Kaufman had a bad injury and he used a waterbed to recover. That bad experience resulted in a furniture company which was founded in 1991 in Newington, Connecticut. Today it is a chain of furniture shops in the Northeastern part of the USA. The company is known for its advertisement campaign and for offering video arcades, home theaters and in-store miniature golf. Among the products offered by the company areseparate beds, bedroom sets, sofas, armchairs and other facilities. Customers are dissatisfied with the quality of the furniture Bob's Discount Furnitureoffers and that is not reimbursed with the customer care. They do not care about the warranties they give and sometimes fraud people selling them one item and in the check mention the other one so that it can not be returned in case it breaks.

Ashley Furniture. Ashley Furniture was founded by Carlyle Weinberger in 1945. Originally it was a sales organization and specialized in certain tables and wall systems. Ashley has become a "WorldClass Furniture Manufacturer", the largest furniture manufacturing company in the country. Today it offers different living-room, bedroom and kitchen pieces and sets as well as accompanying accessories. One of the drawbacks of the company is its customer care. Ashley Furniture does not fulfill the promises it gives in its advertisements and in the stores when consulting clients. The damaged furniture is not replaced, the money is not given back in case the quality of the product is poor, and in many cases the delivery fails or delays.

Comparison. Bob’s Furniture is a comparatively young company, unlike Ashley, less experience and less fame. But both of them fail to provide proper quality of products, services and customer care. Huge advertisement campaigns of Bob’s furniture are well known but the customer is the best advertiser. The company can boast of itself, but the clients may not praise it because of painful experience. More than half a century is not a little period on the market and Ashley did care about the quality and its customers for a long time. But numerous acquisitions and merges must have spoiled the manufactures. Previous attainments keep the company on the market. But it is better never to stop improving. The market is growing and the competition as well.
